Jun Fan/Jeet Kune Do
This is the core art of our Academy. It teaches real world self defense and it is efficient and to the point. There is no wasted movement and it can be learned by anyone. It is taught in both our Adult program and our Children’s program. Jun Fan/Jeet Kune Do is the art of the late, great Bruce Lee. Bruce Lee’s name in Chinese is Lee Jun Fan, hence the name Jun Fan Kickboxing and Gung Fu/Kung Fu. The art of Jun Fan, which utilizes concepts from Wing Chun, Western Boxing, and Fencing among other disciplines, helps students to understand universal principles of motion which can then be used to understand the techniques of any style and will aid them in the development of their own Jeet Kune Do. Jeet Kune Do represents a martial artist’s personal expression and cannot be standardized. It is unique to the individual and is based on their experiences, as well as tailored to their own body type and individual strengths and weaknesses.
Kali
A Filipino martial art, which incorporates the use of weaponry to teach universal principles of motion. Once the principles of Kali are understood, the practitioner can defend themselves with or without a weapon, and will have the ability to pick up just about anything and use it as a weapon (i.e. a pen, a broom, a car antenna). Kali is a vast and complete art and has many areas including single stick, double stick, dagger, double dagger, stick and dagger, long weapons, flexible weapons, throwing weapons, and empty hand techniques. While this may sound complicated, once the basic concepts are understood, the movements are easily transferred from one area to the next.
Kali is so efficient that it is often taught to special forces soldiers and has recently been featured in many Hollywood films such as the "Bourne Identity" Trilogy, featuring Matt Damon; and "The Hunted" starring Tommy Lee Jones.
Thai Boxing

MMA

Even if you never plan to step foot in a ring, this program provides a great workout to get you in shape and will help you to understand the principles of leverage and fighting in all ranges, even when flat on your back with someone on top of you.
Savate
A French martial art known for its graceful but nasty kicks (which uses the shoe as a weapon) and for its superior footwork. This style also helps the practitioner to get a better understanding of range control, and to be both elusive and sneaky.
